7 days training program on scientific beekeeping training concludes at Samba

SAMBA, MARCH 24: A seven-day Scientific Beekeeping training programme, organised by District Agriculture Officer Samba, under the National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) concluded today at Chief Agriculture office complex Samba.

The training program that commenced from 18th March attracted beekeepers, farmers, stakeholders, unemployed youth and SHG members.

Addressing the concluding ceremony, the Chief Agriculture Officer Samba Dr. Rakesh Khajuria encouraged the participants for actively participating in the training programme. He said that the program was aimed to promote latest trends and technologies in the field of apiculture, schemes in Agriculture for beekeepers besides financial assistance schemes for farmers. He further said that under HADP/JKCIP special projects/ programs are being implemented by the department for the development of the concerned sector.

The department offers an 80 percent subsidy on bee colonies under HADP& 50 percent under JKCIP. The event also featured an interactive feedback session, where beekeepers praised the comprehensive training. Incharge Apiculture section Samba DCTC Rakh Dhainsar, Ashu Jamwal,  gave a detailed presentation on Production & Collection of quality Bee Products.

Certificates were also awarded to trainees who completed the seven-day course.
