KISHTWAR, MARCH 23: As part of the nationwide observance of the solemn occasion of Shaheedi Divas and the commencement of a special phase of Vande Mataram 150 celebrations, the District Administration Kishtwar today launched the Special Vande Mataram Campaign, marking the historic 150th anniversary of India’s iconic national song.
The week-long campaign will be observed from March 23 to March 30, 2026, as a tribute to both the spirit of patriotism and the sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs.
The launch was held in District Kishtwar under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma, who paid homage to the legendary freedom fighters Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Sukhdev and Shaheed Rajguru, whose courage and sacrifice continue to inspire generations.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the initiative is a tribute not only to a song but also to the enduring spirit of national unity and sacrifice.
He stated, “Vande Mataram is more than a song; it is the heartbeat of our nation’s history. On this Shaheedi Divas, as we remember our martyrs, we reaffirm our commitment to uphold the values they fought for.”
The Deputy Commissioner along with other district officers, also participated in a selfie campaign to mark the occasion.
The district-wide celebrations are witnessing enthusiastic participation across all educational institutions, as well as at the block and sub-division levels, where a variety of cultural, literary and educational programmes are being conducted.
These activities aim to educate the youth about the historical significance of Vande Mataram and its role in India’s freedom struggle, while also rekindling a sense of patriotism and pride.
By aligning the campaign with Shaheedi Divas, the District Administration seeks to create a deeper emotional connection between the legacy of the national song and the sacrifices of the freedom fighters.
