Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with religious fervour in Poonch DC and SSP join celebrations; extend greetings

POONCH, MARCH 21: Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with great religious fervour, enthusiasm and communal harmony across Poonch district, with thousands of devotees participating in the festivities.

In a remarkable display of unity and brotherhood, people from different communities came together to mark the auspicious occasion. The largest congregation was witnessed at the Eid Gah in Poonch, where thousands of Muslims offered special Eid prayers in the morning.

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police, Shafqat Hussain Bhat along with other officers of the district administration and police, actively participated in the celebrations, reinforcing the spirit of communal harmony and religious tolerance.

On the occasion, the DC and SSP extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people on behalf of themselves, their respective departments and the district administration. They emphasized that Eid symbolizes devotion, charity and the spirit of sharing.

The district administration and police department had made elaborate arrangements for security, traffic management and essential services to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations across the district.

People from Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian communities were seen exchanging greetings, sharing sweets and celebrating together, reflecting the rich tradition of unity in diversity in Poonch.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police conducted a market inspection, reviewing the arrangements and visiting sweet shops to ensure availability of quality products and smooth functioning during the festive period.
