
SRINAGAR, MARCH 18: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, and Science & Technology, Satish Sharma today extended warm and heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Navratra.
In his message, the Minister underscored the spiritual and cultural significance of the nine-day festival, which is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and symbolizes the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and truth over falsehood. He said that Navratra is not merely a religious observance but a celebration of faith, devotion, inner strength, and the enduring values that bind society together.
Satish Sharma noted that the festival serves as a reminder for all to reaffirm their commitment to righteousness, compassion, and self-discipline. He emphasized that such sacred occasions provide an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, and mutual respect among people of all communities across Jammu and Kashmir.
Highlighting the rich cultural diversity of Jammu and Kashmir, the Minister said that festivals like Navratra showcase the region’s composite heritage and reinforce the spirit of unity in diversity. He urged people to celebrate the festival with devotion, enthusiasm, and a sense of responsibility, while also ensuring care for the underprivileged and those in need.
The Minister further expressed hope that the auspicious occasion would usher in an era of peace, progress, and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated the Government’s commitment towards ensuring the welfare of the people, strengthening public service delivery, and promoting inclusive growth across all sectors.
