DC Budgam chairs DLC Meeting on Land Use Conversion

BUDGAM, MARCH 14: A meeting of the District-Level Committee (DLC) regarding conversion of agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes under the J&K Agricultural Land (Conversion for Non-Agricultural Purposes) Regulations, 2022 was held today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan.

The meeting focused on deliberation of pending land use conversion cases across the district. During the meeting, several cases related to the establishment of units such as packaged drinking water plants, construction of shops, hotels, and other commercial establishments were discussed in detail.

After thorough deliberation and examination of the cases,  pending land use conversion cases placed before the committee were decided in accordance with the provisions of the regulations.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure verification of technical parameters, ownership documents before issuing recommendations in such cases.

He stressed the need for effective inter-departmental coordination to streamline the land conversion process while ensuring strict adherence to legal provisions under the relevant regulations.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the CEO Doodhpathri Development Authority, General Manager DIC Budgam, ACR Budgam, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer Budgam, DFO Pir Panjal Forest Division Budgam, Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B) Budgam and Beerwah, Executive Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control Division Budgam, Executive Engineer KPDCL Budgam, Executive Engineer PHE Budgam, Pollution Control Board Officer Budgam, and other concerned offic8ers.
