Ensure quality of land records digitization: DC Anantnag Reviews progress of revenue record digitization; 97% digitised Jamabandies verified in district

ANANTNAG, MARCH 08: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat, on Saturday reviewed the progress of the district on digitization of land records during a meeting with the concerned officers at Dak Bungalow Khanabal.

The meeting was attended by the ADCs, ACR, SDMs besides the Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars of the district.

During the proceedings, the DC conducted Tehsil-wise evaluation of the progress of verification and uploading of Jambandies on PM Gati Shakti Portal and directed the officers to ensure quality of land records digitisation process. He added that the same will be fruitful for the citizens and may serve the purpose in future as well. He directed the Tehsildars and NTs to closely monitor the work of Parwaris and expedite the process without compromising on data accuracy. NTs as Checkers and Tehsildars as approvers on the portal have important roles for the process to complete in a transparent and time-bound manner, he observed.

Dr. Bilal emphasized that the digitization initiative is aimed at enhancing transparency and ensuring that citizens have easy access to vital land-related information. He underscored that accurate digitization is essential to streamline revenue-related services and directed the officers to take appropriate action on back log mutations and non-quasi judicial errors.

Taking notice of the low performing areas, the DC directed the Tehsildars and NTs to conduct regular field visits of the Revenue villages and monitor the working of their subordinate staff viz Patwaris (Verifiers of Jamabandies) and Girdawars vis a vis the verification and uploading work.

He issued similar instructions to the ADCs, ACR and SDMs and asked them to supervise the process and provide necessary guidance to the concerned revenue staff wherever required.

Reviewing implementation of the Public Services Guarantee Act, the DC directed the officers that benefits of all revenue services that come under the ambit of the Act shall be extended to the eligible applicants in a fair, transparent and time bound manner.

The meeting was informed that data punching and verification of already digitized Jamabandies is nearing completion and the district has achieved 97% progress, with 355 out of 394 Revenue Villages completed so far. It was given out that updated geo-referenced digitized maps have been prepared with attributes such as Khasra Number and area besides the sub-parcelisation of maps has been completed in 130 Revenue Villages. Further, the work on the pending mutation module has been started, which will update the current revenue records.
