District-level Awareness Workshop under RAMP held at Bandipora

BANDIPORA, MARCH 7: District Industries Centre (DIC) Bandipora on Saturday organised the first awareness workshop of 2026 under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) programme at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

The workshop was attended by officials from various departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, KVIB, banking institutions and aspiring entrepreneurs.

During the programme, resource persons from the District Industries Centre highlighted that with the advancement of technologies like artificial intelligence, traditional job opportunities are decreasing, making self-employment an important avenue for youth. They stressed that the government is providing guidance and financial assistance to promote entrepreneurship in both service and manufacturing sectors. Participants were also informed about schemes like PMEGP, incentives including turnover incentives, and facilitation for land allotment for setting up industrial units.

Resource persons from the Agriculture, Sheep Husbandry and Horticulture departments briefed the participants about various schemes under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), including establishment of polyhouses, Custom Hiring Centres and promotion of high-density horticulture.

On the occasion, resource person from the banking sector also informed participants about financial assistance available under various government-sponsored schemes.

The workshop concluded with an interactive session where participants were encouraged to take advantage of government schemes and explore self-employment opportunities.
