
BHADERWAH, MARCH 02: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Kumar Bhutyal today laid the foundation stone for the construction of an Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station at the premises of Divisional Forest Office Bhaderwah.
The station is being established by the Divisional Office of the Jammu & Kashmir Pollution Control Committee under the National Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Programme (NAAQMP).
The monitoring station will analyze the concentration levels of key air pollutants including PM10, PM2.5, Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂) and Sulphur Dioxide (SO₂) to assess the ambient air quality in Bhaderwah and its surrounding areas.
Divisional Officer JKPCC, Gurpreet Singh informed that the monitoring station shall help generate accurate scientific data regarding air pollution levels. He stated that regular monitoring will enable the authorities to take timely and effective measures for environmental protection and pollution control.
The ADC appreciated the initiative of JKPCC and emphasized the importance of maintaining clean air for public health and sustainable development.
Range Officer Sameer Ahmed Rishu and all the staff members of the Forest Department were also present during the foundation laying ceremony.
