KULGAM, JANUARY 31: A review meeting of the District Level Child Welfare and Protection Committee (DLCWPC), Kulgam was held today under the directions of the District Magistrate, Kulgam at the Mini-Secretariat, Kulgam.
The meeting chaired by Additional District Magistrate Kulgam reviewed the overall implementation of Mission Vatsalya in the district and assessed inter-departmental coordination for strengthening child welfare, protection mechanisms and delivery of services to children in need of care and protection.
Senior officers from Police, Health, Education, Social Welfare, Labour, Urban Local Bodies, Youth Services & Sports, Skill Development Department and consultant from UNICEF participated in the meeting.
The District Social Welfare Officer, Kulgam, presented the agenda and an Action Taken Report highlighting progress achieved and challenges faced.
Emphasis was laid on effective convergence among departments, timely identification of vulnerable children, and strict implementation of child protection laws and schemes.
Officers were directed to ensure coordinated efforts for safeguarding child rights and improving service delivery at the grassroots level.
