KATHUA, JANUARY 31: The Motor Vehicles Department in collaboration with Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua today organised an awareness programme on road safety under the theme ‘Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha’ here at Kathua.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. Students of the school actively participated in the programme and presented their views highlighting the importance of following road safety rules while driving vehicles.

While addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner thanked the Motor Vehicles Department Kathua for organising the road safety awareness programme especially for students. He stressed that such programmes should be made a regular feature to create sustained awareness among students as well as the general public. He further observed that awareness on road safety cannot be achieved within a week or a month and requires continuous and consistent efforts.
SSP Kathua, Mohita Sharma also spoke on the occasion and emphasised that road safety is crucial for saving lives. She noted that students are the future drivers and it is therefore meaningful and important to make them aware of road safety rules and regulations at an early age.
