
DODA, JANUARY 31: A meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) was convened the other day here in the Conference Hall at DC Office Complex under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Harvinder Singh to review key transport-related issues and further strengthen the road safety and public transport services in the district.
The meeting deliberated on measures for streamlining traffic management, regulating vehicle operations and ensuring strict enforcement of transport and motor vehicle rules. Stress was laid on regulation of permits, vehicle fitness and effective traffic enforcement mechanisms, besides enhancing inter-departmental coordination to facilitate smooth and efficient transportation across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to take proactive and time-bound measures to address bottlenecks and resolve public grievances regarding transport services.
The meeting was attended by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sandeep Mehta; Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Inspectors from the Motor Vehicles Department and other concerned officers and officials.
