BANDIPORA, JANUARY 30 : In an effort to promote safe and responsible driving, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Bandipora on Tuesday organized a Road Safety Signature Campaign aimed at spreading awareness among the general public, especially drivers and youth.
The campaign was conducted at prominent locations across the district, where participants voluntarily signed a pledge committing themselves to follow traffic rules, avoid rash driving, wear seat belts and helmets, and refrain from drunk driving. Officials emphasized that road safety is a shared responsibility and can significantly reduce accidents if basic rules are followed.
Speaking on the occasion, officials from ARTO Bandipora highlighted the rising number of road accidents and stressed the importance of awareness, discipline, and civic sense while using public roads. Pamphlets and awareness material were also distributed to educate people about traffic norms and safety measures.
The initiative received an encouraging response from the public, with students, drivers, and commuters actively participating.
The ARTO office stated that similar awareness programs will continue in the future as part of the ongoing road safety drive to ensure safer roads in the district
