
KATHUA, JANUARY 29: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting to discuss the modalities for formulation of a comprehensive Youth Engagement and Empowerment Plan, here at the DC office complex.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for a coordinated and multi-departmental approach to channelise the energy, talent and potential of youth in a positive and productive direction. He directed the stakeholder departments to identify sector-wise activities and programmes for effective engagement and empowerment of youth. He said the dedicated plan is aimed at providing structured opportunities and meaningful engagement to the youth across the district.
It was informed that departments including Youth Services and Sports, Education, Social Welfare, Police, Rural Development, Handloom, Handicrafts, Labour, Employment, Information, NIC, Skill Development, Health, Agriculture and allied sectors would play a key role in planning and implementation of youth-centric initiatives.
The DC stressed upon optimal utilisation of available infrastructure and effective inter-departmental coordination to ensure maximum outreach. He also underscored the importance of skill development, career guidance, sports and cultural activities, digital literacy, awareness programmes and livelihood generation initiatives for holistic development of youth.
Officers were directed to prepare actionable plans with clearly defined roles, timelines and measurable outcomes to ensure structured and sustainable implementation of the Youth Engagement and Empowerment Plan.
The meeting was attended by PO ICDS Mohd Syed Khan, CPO Ranjeet Thakur, ACD, ACP, CAO, DYSSO, DIO Information , DIO NIC, Principal ITI and other concerned officers.
