KISHTWAR, JANUARY 29: A public outreach programme was today organized here on Chowgan Ground to sensitise the general public to Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Abhiyan initiated by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
Protection Officer NIC, Touseef Iqbal Butt informed the public about the role of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) in safeguarding children and providing necessary support, counselling and legal assistance wherever required.
The participants took a solemn pledge to oppose child marriage in all forms, spread awareness within their communities and to report any incident to Panchayat or Government departments and also support efforts aimed at creating a child marriage-free society.
