GDC Kastigarh celebrates National Voters’ Day

DODA, JANUARY 24: The Government Dy.SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College- Kastigarh celebrated National Voters’ Day 2026 as part of the ongoing activities marking 150 years of “Vande Mataram”. The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, Principal of the College with active participation from students, faculty members and members of the public.

 

The students and staff took the Voter Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to democratic values. The programme aimed to encourage, empower and facilitate timely enrolment of new voters, while also promoting maximum participation in the electoral process, which is essential for the progress and development of the nation.

 

Addressing the gathering, the College Principal emphasized the importance of voter education and awareness, urging students to act as ambassadors of democracy by motivating people in society to exercise their right to vote. He highlighted that greater participation leads to a stronger and vibrant democracy, echoing the message, “There is nothing like voting; I vote for sure.”

 

The Voter Pledge was administered by Dr. Anupam Lata, who highlighted the significance of voting and explained how it contributes to effective governance, social development and national progress.
