
SHOPIAN, JANUARY 20: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today presided over a review meeting of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) to review and assess the progress of the JJM Schemes and ensure time-bound provision of safe drinking water to every household in the district.
The DDC directed concerned officers to ensure completion of projects within set timelines, adherence to quality standards and regular community engagement. He reiterated that JJM is a priority programme aimed at improving public health and living standards.
Emphasis was laid on accelerating works, removing bottlenecks, and maintaining transparency in execution.
During the meeting, the DDC was informed that out of 62 water supply schemes, 21 schemes have been completed which are fully functional and remaining schemes are also at advances stage of completion and interms of individual works out of 162 works, 109 works have been completed. The proposal for extension of timelines for physical competition of works was also discussed.
ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, XEN Jal Shakti, Abdul Rashid Wani, CPO, JEs and other concerned were present in the meeting.
