BARAMULLA, JANUARY 20: Ahead of Republic Day 2026, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today visited the main venue to review the preparations and assess the arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
During the visit, the DC inspected arrangements related to security, seating, sanitation, electricity, drinking water supply, medical facilities and traffic management. Officers concerned were instructed to ensure that all arrangements are completed well in advance and maintained as per the prescribed standards.
Later, the DC chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review overall preparedness. Emphasis was laid on close coordination among line departments, timely execution of assigned responsibilities and ensuring public convenience and safety during the celebrations.
Minga Sherpa highlighted the importance of Republic Day as an occasion of national pride and exhorted all departments to work with dedication and a sense of responsibility to ensure the event is conducted smoothly and in a befitting manner.
