Police in Srinagar seize property worth ₹2 crore belonging to TRF commander Sajjad Gul.

Srinagar: On Saturday, police seized property worth approximately ₹2 crore belonging to Sheikh Sajjad Ahmed Sheikh, alias Sajjad Gul, one of the key handlers of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s hit squad, the Resistance Front. Sajjad Gul, a terrorist with a bounty of ₹10 lakh, has been hiding in Pakistan for more than eight years. He is wanted in connection with more than 30 targeted killings of minorities and civilians from other states in Kashmir. He has also been implicated in the Pahalgam attack. Officials revealed that Gul completed his early education in Srinagar. He then completed a course in Bengaluru, and shortly thereafter, he became involved in terrorist activities. Initially, he worked as an overground worker for terrorists, arranging hideouts and funding for them. In 2002, he was arrested in a hawala case and served time in prison. After his release, he lived a normal life for a while, but then became involved in terrorist activities. In 2017, he fled to Pakistan using a fake passport to evade security agencies. After arriving in Pakistan, he took charge of the Kashmir wing of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s internet media and began running their mouthpiece, Kashmir Fights. Through his local network in Kashmir, he identified individuals who were directly or indirectly thwarting the terrorists’ agenda and then issued a hit list of them. He also played a key role in recruiting local youth into the terrorist organization. During 2019, he became part of the TRF’s command council and has since been named in investigations of almost every targeted killing in Kashmir. The concerned police officials said that the property of Sajad Gul has been attached today as part of the investigation of a case registered against him in the year 2022 at Parimpora police station under UAPA and 2/3 EIMCO Act.
