Udhampur Police Busts Digital-Aided Heroin Supply Chain; Accused Arrested, Contraband Seized

In a major success against narco-smuggling, Udhampur Police today arrested a drug peddler who was using hi-tech methods to conduct illegal trade.

During routine traffic checking at Naka Point Jakheni, a police team from PS Udhampur intercepted one person, identified as Arif Hussain S/o Mohd Iqbal R/o Marmat, Doda. On frisking, 22.13 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused was operating the entire narcotics supply system by getting payments transferred directly into his bank account and sharing precise delivery locations for the contraband, thereby conducting transactions online in an attempt to evade conventional tracking methods.

In this regard, FIR No. 297/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is underway to unearth the entire network.
