New Delhi, August 5 – Former Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik, passed away on Tuesday afternoon in Delhi. He breathed his last at 1:12 PM at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital. Malik, 79, had been battling multiple health issues for a long time. His death has sent a wave of grief through political circles across the country.
The news of his passing was shared through a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle. Malik had been admitted to the hospital on May 11 due to urinary complications and was later shifted to the ICU as his condition worsened. He had been suffering from kidney-related ailments and was receiving treatment under the supervision of Dr. Mahapatra, Head of the Nephrology Department. In recent days, he was placed on a ventilator due to deteriorating health.
He was being treated at RML Hospital for diabetes, kidney disease, and hypertension. Throughout his political career, Malik served as the Governor of Bihar, Goa, Meghalaya, and Jammu & Kashmir. His passing has prompted condolences from several prominent national leaders, many of whom took to X to express their grief. He is remembered as a capable and seasoned politician.
