New Delhi, July 28: The Lok Sabha on Monday opened a critical discussion on Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, leading the government’s side, declared that the Indian armed forces had achieved complete success in destroying Pakistani-based terrorist camps. He also confirmed that there were no military casualties on the Indian side during the operation.
Taking aim at the opposition, Singh addressed their questions head-on and urged the House to speak in one voice to honor the valor of the Indian armed forces.
Reflecting on India’s strategic shift under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh recalled, “In 2015, when Prime Minister Modi visited Lahore and met Nawaz Sharif, India once again extended the hand of friendship. We genuinely sought peace, because our nature is inspired by Buddha, not by war.”
Sending a strong message to both Pakistan and the international community, the Defence Minister said, “Wars are fought between equals — a lion does not attack a frog. India will not lower its standards by engaging Pakistan on those terms.”
He emphasized that those who support terrorism have received a clear warning: India is firmly committed to defending its motherland.
Calling for unity across the political spectrum, Singh said, “Let us rise above party lines, guided by the spirit of ‘Sangachhadhvam Samvadadhvam’ (let us walk and speak together), and stand united. Strengthening this national resolve is our shared responsibility.”
He concluded by underlining the importance of solidarity: “This is the time to reinforce our commitment to national security, sovereignty, and self-respect. We must remember that our social and political unity is our greatest strength.”
