Operation Mahadev: Terrorist Linked to Pahalgam Attack Believed Killed; Intelligence Agencies Working to Confirm Identity

In a significant counter-terrorism breakthrough, Indian security forces have neutralized three militants in an intense gunfight during a search operation in the forested Harwan area near Srinagar. The joint operation was carried out by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police.

During the encounter, troops recovered one M4 carbine assault rifle and two AK-series rifles from the slain terrorists. According to intelligence sources, a suspicious communication signal had recently been intercepted from this area, prompting the operation.

Preliminary investigations suggest that one of the devices recovered from the neutralized militants matches the type used by terrorists involved in the recent Pahalgam attack. This has raised strong suspicions that at least one of the militants killed in the operation may have been directly involved in that incident.

Security and intelligence agencies are currently working to verify the identities of the deceased and confirm their links to the Pahalgam terror attack, which left the nation shocked. Officials believe that a major lead may soon emerge in the ongoing investigation.

The area remains under strict cordon as search operations continue to rule out the presence of any additional threats. The joint forces are on high alert, determined to ensure complete security in the region.
