LG Manoj Sinha launched a web portal for families of terrorism victims in Jammu and Kashmir

Taking another major initiative towards ensuring justice to the victims of terrorist violence and resolving their various issues, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday inaugurated a dedicated portal for the families of terrorism victims in Jammu and Kashmir.

Let us tell you that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha is personally monitoring all the cases to resolve the issues of the victims of terrorist violence. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that apart from this portal, special cells have also been created at the District Deputy Commissioner, District SSP and Divisional Commissioner Office level which will review the registration of terrorism victim cases and action on them from time to time. Before releasing the portal today, as per the directions of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, helplines have been set up for the victims of terrorist violence in the respective District Deputy Commissioner and District SSP offices in each district. On these helplines, the victims can register their problems and get the solution as far as possible. Inaugurating a dedicated portal for victims of terror violence at Raj Bhawan here today, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said that this initiative will streamline and expedite the process of providing relief, compassionate appointment and other forms of assistance to victims of terrorism in the Union Territory.

He said that this web portal, developed by the Home Department in collaboration with NIC, will act as a centralized platform for collecting and maintaining comprehensive district wise data of terror affected families. Details of any encroachment on the property of the victims or their relatives are also being collected.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha said that this portal will ensure that no legitimate case related to terror violence remains unresolved and timely assistance in the form of financial relief, ex-gratia and compassionate employment is provided to the eligible families. This portal will also ensure elimination of any bogus or multiple claims.

He informed that the Central Government and the Jammu and Kashmir State Administration under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi are committed to provide all possible help to the victims of terrorist violence and to ensure justice to them. As part of this commitment, toll-free helpline numbers have also been set up in both the provinces, Jammu (0191-2478995) and Kashmir (0194-2487777), to facilitate the registration of any neglected or pending claim. These toll-free helplines are in the offices of the respective Divisional Commissioners. These helplines are being addressed through dedicated control rooms as citizen interface to receive complaints or queries related to pending government assistance to terrorism-affected families such as compensation, ex-gratia and compassionate appointment.
