Travelling in buses in Jammu and Kashmir has become cheaper

Now you will get a discount of five percent on paying the ticket through mobile in Jammu Smart City’s e-buses. Jammu Smart City Limited has implemented this discount from Friday itself.

However, there will be no discount on paying in cash. The passenger will have to make the payment by scanning the QR code on the machine lying with the conductor and he will get the benefit of this discount automatically. Apart from this, people can also take advantage of this discount by paying through Paz machine and Chalo app.

Earlier, travel was made free for women in the e-buses of Smart City. Now no fare is charged from any woman. 95 buses of Jammu Smart City are running on the roads in Jammu division, while five buses are kept reserved, so that they can be used when needed. About 25 thousand are travelling in these e-buses daily. Passengers are making their journey comfortable in e-buses by downloading Chalo app. The arrival time of the bus is also known through this app, as it has a live tracking system.

These e-buses were started in Jammu on 25 January 2024. It was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. At present, these buses are being run on the main towns and major routes of Jammu division. There is a proposal to run 100 more e-buses in the coming time.
