Farooq Abdullah says ‘Prime Minister Modi has done a great job’

National Conference president and former chief minister Dr Farooq Abdullah has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for ensuring the safe return of Kashmiri students stranded in Iran. He described their efforts as commendable and significant. In a brief interaction with reporters in Jammu today, Dr Abdullah expressed concern over the escalating tension between Iran and Israel and described the situation as alarming. “War never brings any real benefit. It only leads to destruction. Dialogue and reconciliation are the only solutions to resolve conflicts. War is neither good for humanity nor for mankind,” he said. Commenting further on the geopolitical situation, he said, “The impact of war is always devastating. There is no benefit to humanity from any conflict. What can be achieved through dialogue cannot be achieved through war. Fight as much as you want- destruction will be inevitable for both sides.” Referring to the rescue of Kashmiri students from Iran, Dr Abdullah said, “What the Prime Minister and Mr Jaishankar have done is a great and commendable act. They have brought back many people and I am confident that those who are still left behind will also be brought home safely.”
