Jammu: Since taking power in Jammu and Kashmir, the problems of the leadership of the National Conference are not decreasing. First reservation, then state status, Waqf Amendment Act and now politics is hot due to former RAW chief AS Dulat’s book ‘The Chief Minister and the Spy’.
The discontent in the organization is clearly visible due to Dr. Farooq Abdullah being described as a supporter of the removal of Article 370 in this book. This is the reason why from PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti to other opposition parties are leaving no stone unturned to surround the NC.
In this sequence, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday targeted People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti for her comments on former RAW chief AS Dulat’s latest book about National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, if Mehbooba Mufti believes that everything that Dulat has written is true, then should we also believe what she has written about her father in her first book?
Mufti’s father, late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, was the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Mehbooba Mufti had said that she was not surprised by the revelations made by former Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) chief Dulat in his latest book about Farooq Abdullah personally supporting the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution. Regarding this, Omar said,
Omar was here talking about AS Dulat’s book published in 2015 – Kashmir – The Vajpayee Years. In this book, the kidnapping (1989) of Rubaiya Sayeed, daughter of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and sister of Mehbooba Mufti, was mentioned. At that time Mufti Sayeed was the Home Minister in the Central Government.
It was told in the book that at that time Farooq Abdullah had said that the terrorists should not be released. But the government released them. Similarly, the book also mentioned the relationship between separatist leader Sayeed Ali Shah Gilani and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
