Kathua: Firing took place after some terrorists were seen in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces have cordoned off the area. Jammu and Kashmir Police has given this information. One policeman has been injured. Army, SOG and CRPF had infiltrated Billawar and Rajbagh police station area of Kathua at night and conducted a search operation on the route leading to the mountains.
Yesterday, a cordon was laid in search of terrorists in the forests near Sanyal village of Hiranagar. DGP Nalin Prabhat remained on the front during the operation. On Wednesday, the DGP held a meeting with police officers and station in-charges and discussed strategies to crack down on terrorists. He said, find the terrorists and eliminate them.
Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat held a special meeting with the station in-charges of Samba and Kathua districts bordering the international border at Hiranagar police station on Wednesday evening. In this meeting, SHOs and officers from Lakhanpur to Vijaypur as well as SOG officers participated. According to sources, he encouraged the police force in the two-hour long meeting. He praised the SOG team for giving a befitting reply to the firing of terrorists on Sunday evening. However, he gave tips to the officers on how better things could be done.
