Jammu, February 11th, 2025:- To review the capabilities and preparedness of the Jammu & Kashmir Police, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu, Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, IPS, visited the Commando Training Centre (CTC), Sunjwan. During the visit, the IGP reviewed the existing facilities and infrastructure at the center to assess their effectiveness in training specialized forces.
2. The visit was aimed at ensuring that the training infrastructure meets the highest standards and provides the necessary facilities to the personnel undergoing training for challenging security operations. The IGP was briefed by Principal, CTC, Sunjwan on the past training programs and the operational readiness of the center.
3. The IGP emphasized the importance of modernizing training techniques and providing state-of-the-art facilities for the personnel. He directed that immediate steps be taken to further upgrade the infrastructure, ensuring it supports the evolving demands of modern counter-terrorism and security operations. Specific instructions were given for the up gradation of training grounds and the enhancement of accommodation facilities and equipment.
4. The IGP also stressed the need for regular maintenance of the existing infrastructure to ensure that the personnel receive optimal training conditions. He called for a comprehensive review of all the training modules and suggested the inclusion of more specialized courses aimed at sharpening the tactical, physical, and psychological readiness of the commandos.
5. The IGP further assured that all necessary resources would be allocated to make CTC Sunjwan a center of excellence in terms of training and infrastructure, thereby strengthening the security forces in the region.
