Omar Abdullah files nomination from Ganderbal, says BJP is conspiring with independent candidates

National Conference Vice President and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah filed his nomination from Ganderbal Assembly constituency on Wednesday. Expressing confidence in his victory, he said that if Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar had not been given a ticket by the National Conference in 2014, he would never have become a legislator. Notably, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar had resigned from the National Conference last year and formed an organization called Jammu and Kashmir United Movement. He is also contesting the election from Ganderbal.
