In the midst of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, the BJP is facing opposition within the party. Senior party leader Chandra Mohan Sharma announced his resignation from the party on Friday and threatened to contest as an independent candidate due to disagreements over ticket distribution.
Tension is brewing among BJP leaders in the union territory over ticket distribution. Party leaders and workers are protesting in several districts of the Jammu region against the allocation of tickets. To calm the situation, several top leaders, including Union ministers, have been deployed.
Chandra Mohan Sharma, convenor of the Tawi Movement, cited the reason for his resignation, saying, “There is immense anger and resentment among party leaders and workers due to the improper distribution of mandates. They are expressing their discontent through protests.”
Sharma added, “I am resigning from the party along with other senior leaders, feeling disheartened by this.”
