Jammu: “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Releases Third List of Candidates for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its third list of candidates for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, featuring 29 names. The party had earlier released its first list on Monday, which was later revised and re-released. The revised list included 15 names. Following this, the BJP released another list with just one name. In total, the BJP announced 16 names on Monday and has now released a list of 29 candidates. With this, the party has fielded a total of 45 candidates so far.
The party has fielded Devendra Singh Rana from Nagrota and Satish Sharma from Billawar, a seat previously represented by former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh in the 2014 Assembly elections. The BJP has made one change in the list released on Monday, replacing Rohit Dubey with Baldev Raj Sharma as the candidate from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi seat. All other names are for the same constituencies that were announced earlier.
The party’s latest list includes 10 candidates for the second phase and 19 for the third phase. The BJP has yet to announce its candidate for Nowshera, a seat represented by the party’s current state president Ravinder Raina in 2014, and Gandhi Nagar, a seat won by senior leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta in the previous election.”
