Ravinder Raina files 5 crore defemation suit against surinder choudhary former MLC

Court issued notice to Surinder choudhary

Jammu August-23-2023-:- Today Ravinder Raina President BJP J&K filed Suit for damages up to the tune of Rs. Five (Rs. 5 Crores) for intentional defamation of the plaintiff caused by the Surinder Kumar Choudhary former MLC by his tweets, media/social media interviews, etc. leveling baseless and defamatory allegations.

 

Principal District Judge Jammu Sanjay Parihar after hearing Adv Arjun Singh issued notice to the Surinder Kumar Choudhary.

 

In the suit filed by Ravinder Raina it is submitted that he has earning his reputation as a human rights activist, social worker and dedicating himself towards ameliorating the cause of public including working for victims of terrorism across J&K, in 2014, the plaintiff was fielded as MLA candidate from Nowshera assembly segment by Bharatiya Janta Party. The plaintiff won the elections and represented the cause of his constituency as also raised his voice concerning the state of J&K in the State Assembly. In 2018, by dint of his hard work and sincerity towards nation-building, the plaintiff was made as President of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in J & K. The plaintiff continues as such on date and is the longest serving President of the BJP unit of UT of J&K. The plaintiff has an enviable, blot-less career in public life. By his hardwork and honesty, the plaintiff has emerged as a political leader with an unimpeachable reputation and a vast following across all segments of society within and outside J&K.

Although, victory and defeat is part and parcel of a democratic system, but the defendant could not, possibly, digest defeat and was always in search of opportunities to defame and malign the image of the plaintiff and his party.

 

That the defendant quit Peoples Democratic Party in the year 2022, and approached BJP for joining by publicly admitting his respect for BJP’s commitment towards nation-building. After approval from central party high command, he was joined in BJP in presence of senior Party leaders at Jammu. It is submitted that the defendant joined the BJP party in the tenure and in presence of the plaintiff as President J&K Unit of BJP.

 

That his insatiable political and personal ambitions, prodded him to join National Conference on the 11th day of July 2023 by quitting the BJP. The defendant, it is submitted, put up a tweet on 11.07.2023 at around 05.51 AM from his official Twitter-handle ‘Surinderch55’ and a post as well on his Facebook wall too. That the intentional and purely malicious tirade of defendant was yet to say its last word. Consciously insensitive to the primordial necessity of decency, restraint and limitations imposed by law, defendant continued unabatedly with defamatory tweets, social media posts and interviews to various portals repeating the same defamatory content against the plaintiff.
