Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the arrival of foreign tourists has seen an increase after a long gap. The arrival of foreign guests in the Union Territory has increased by 59 percent. Along with this, negative travel counseling imposed by some countries is expected to be removed. So far this year, 1.27 crore tourists including foreigners have visited Jammu and Kashmir.
A grand ceremony was held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on the occasion of 77th Independence Day. Here, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha hoisted the flag. During this, he also took the salute of the parade. At the same time, Independence Day program was organized at MA Stadium in Jammu. The flag hoisting was done by Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Deputy Governor here.
During his address in Srinagar, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “This year’s successful G20 summit helped to advance Jammu and Kashmir globally.” In May, participants from 27 countries took a positive message at a meeting of the G20 Tourism Work Group held in Srinagar.
LG said, Jammu and Kashmir is being identified as the place of peace and beauty of nature. He said that this year’s Amarnath Yatra has attracted not only the devotees of the country but also foreign pilgrims.
He said that today Jammu and Kashmir is identified for changes and peaceful atmosphere four years ago. LG said, “I am sure that the negative travel counseling on Jammu and Kashmir by some countries will be removed soon.”
