Leh, Jammu 9th Feb 2023: The administration has made a big announcement in Ladakh of Jammu and Kashmir. In fact, the Ladakh Pollution Control Committee (LPCC) has declared an area of 100 meters around hospitals and schools in Ladakh as silence zone. In this context, officials said that an area of 100 meters around hospitals, schools and courts has been declared as ‘silent zone’ and total use of loudspeakers has been banned.
Loudspeaker will not play in areas of 100 meters
The use of loudspeakers, horns or bursting of firecrackers is strictly prohibited in these areas, officials said. The LPCC has divided the areas into four zones. They have divided these areas into industrial area, commercial area, residential area and silence area. At the same time, ambient air quality standards have been set in relation to noise.
Explained that the loudspeaker limit has been set at 75, 65, 55 and 50 decibels during the day for industrial, commercial, residential and quiet areas, while 70, 55, 45 and 40 decibels have been set for these areas at night. .
