On Tuesday, security forces killed three terrorists in an encounter in Shopian district of Kashmir Valley. All the three terrorists were associated with the banned organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that out of the three local terrorists killed, two have been identified. One of these is Latif Lone of Shopian, who was involved in the murder of Kashmiri Pandit Puran Krishna Bhat.
ADGP Kashmir further informed that the second terrorist is Umar Nazir, who was a resident of Anantnag. Terrorist Umar was involved in the murder of Nepalese national Til Bahadur Thapa. An AK 47 rifle and two pistols have been recovered from the terrorists. At the same time, the process of identifying the third terrorist is going on.
On October 15, terrorists carried out target killing in Chaudhary Gund area of District Shopian. Kashmiri Pandit Puran Krishna Bhat was shot dead by terrorists when he was going towards his garden. The terrorists had fled after carrying out the attack. At the same time, the injured Puran Bhat was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
