Bird flu has knocked in Jammu and Kashmir amidst the negligence being taken at the rinderpest check post of Animal Husbandry Department in Lakhanpur. Bird flu has been confirmed in five samples of chickens sent outside the state by the Animal Husbandry Department. After this, there has been a stir in the department as well. At present, it is being investigated from which area these samples were taken, but after confirmation of bird flu in Jammu division, all the districts have been alerted.
Regarding poultry supply, there are instructions to bring chickens and chickens especially from areas where there is no disease. The goods should be loaded on the vehicle only after its proper investigation and verification, but the process of investigation is bypassed by the poultry supplier and departmental connivance.
Director of the department, Dr. Shubhra Sharma says that bird flu has been found in five chickens sent from Jammu division for examination to labs outside the state. From where their samples were sent, it is being investigated, as well as the staff has been alerted. Instructions have been issued to increase monitoring at the district level as well.
It is pertinent to mention here that The winter season is very sensitive for bird flu. In such a situation, the risk of bird flu has increased even more due to the arrival of chickens and chickens in Jammu and Kashmir without examination.
