CONTAINING HYBRID TERRORISTS
The relatively new headache which is bothering police and other security forces in the UT of J&K is the new reign of terror unleashed by the hybrid terrorists especially in the Valley. Though the modus operandi of these terrorists has been exposed and the police and CAPFs have chalked out an effective strategy to contain this new threat presently prevalent in the Valley but looking into the gravity of the issue it is quite necessary that a comprehensive plan should be brought into existence to ensure that none of the youths of the Valley could be radicalized in such a manner that he or she could be used to carry out terror activities in the UT or elsewhere. The way the cops have taken proactive steps in containing the terror spread by the hybrid terrorists is phenomenal because day in day out the hybrid terrorists were becoming the target of security forces raising hope that sooner than later this new kind of terrorism will also be eliminated like the way the regular terrorists are being sanitized effectively. In this context, the latest reports which are coming from the ground zero viz. Kashmir are quite encouraging because three Hybrid terrorists have been arrested just a day before at Shalteng area of Srinagar Outskirts while a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) hybrid terrorist, accompanying a police party for identifying a hideout, was killed during an encounter between security forces and ultras in Anantnag district. There was a huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered during the arrest of three hybrid terrorists making it imperative for the security forces to focus on this new form of terrorism being experimented allegedly by the rogue nation Pakistan and the terror outfits based in that country. The ammunition recovered includes three AK rifles, two pistols, nine magazines and 200 rounds. It is good that the security forces have maintained mounting pressure on the ‘terror regime’ active in the Valley but still the threat is large and therefore the security should be of the top level with no compromise on any stage or step. It is pertinent to know that the hybrid terrorists are unlisted radicalized people who carry out terror strikes and slip back into their routine lives often without leaving any traces.
