KUDOS TO JAMMU POLICE
As the threat of terror strikes is looming large in Jammu region, the Jammu Police is doing yeoman’s service in foiling the attempts made by terrorist outfits to vitiate peace. There are number of incidents in which the Jammu Police showcased extreme levels of alertness and high acumen in foiling the ploys of the enemies of nation to devastate peace and tranquility in the region. in this context, the Jammu Police once again did the marvelous job by identifying and recovering dangerous quantity of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from the outskirts of Jammu City averting a big tragedy. Reportedly, a suspected IED was recovered by Jammu Police from a spot adjacent to Phallian Mandal Police Post of Satwari Police Station. The place is very close to international border and therefore the arms dropping by a drone is not ruled out in this very case. it is not the first time that explosives have been recovered from the place near the border with Pakistan as the drone menace is quite rampant these because Pakistan after acquiring this technology is persistently using these unmanned aerial vehicles to drop arms and ammunition, drugs and also using the same for recce purposes give a tough time to security forces guarding the borders including BSF. As the border line with Pakistan is extremely large it becomes quite difficult for the security personnel to deter the rogue nation from sending their drones for carrying out misadventures and that could be the reason behind this consignment reaching near the Police Post falling under the jurisdiction of Satwari Police Station. It has become a routine in the areas along the borders that after every spotting of drones coming from the Pakistani side, the entire area has to be sanitized before restarting normal activity as drugs and weapons are continuously being smuggled through this new modus operandi using the drone technology. No doubt that the Jammu Police has accomplished a laudable job in recovering the IED because had this explosive material would have gone untraced, there was every chance of mass destruction in the form of deaths of people and loss of property as the adversaries of the nation wanted this to be a reality.
