STOP THIS HENCEFORTH
There is no doubt that like other cities in the country or even in the world, the City of Temples–Jammu has many issues and problems, which the society including city dwellers, government, and other stakeholders do confront and try to mitigate as far as possible but there was one quality of this city that post independence this ‘City Beautiful’ was never infested with one of the biggest blots of other cities known as flesh trade as the city used to have a culture which was serene, slow and full of sanctity. With the city changing its contours after the population explosion and some other reasons, and attaining the characteristics of a metropolitan city, various negative aspects have entered the limits of this place which is not good and the society as whole should counter the same effectively. One of the heinous activities which recently have been reported in this sacrosanct place is flesh trade and demands have been raised by the prominent people to check the menace as reports have been averring that the illegal business is flourishing and giving a bad name to the city, which has a clean record of being the most helpful, peaceful and beautiful city in the entire north India. Police should play its significant role in curbing this anti-social activity and bring back the misguided lot on right track as there might be some compulsions forcing those who are indulging in this wrong activity and giving a bad name to themselves and the city as well. In this context, a startling fact has come to fore wherein a teenager residing in Qasim Nagar area near Narwal Chowk in outskirts of Jammu City has lodged a complaint with the Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station against a woman for pushing her to flesh trade. Though the matter is under investigation but the issue is quite significant highlighting that society in Jammu City will have to help the administration and also remain cautious to take all possible steps in ending this scourge which is slowly creeping in due to changing strides of the city situated along the banks of beautiful river Tawishi, also known as Suryaputri. The police on the other hand should take appropriate steps to nip the evil in the bud.
