GOOD GOVERNANCE MODEL
The situation in J&K has been changed drastically as far as public service and good governance is concerned. The day the erstwhile state was transformed into Union Territory with a part becoming Ladakh UT, the fate of the people was changed for good as centre and the local administration have jointly started working for the cause of making J&K UT a model unit where people can avail all the services with just a click on the mouse. The reports coming in this regard are promising as Jammu and Kashmir Government has made more than 200 services online for prompt service delivery for its citizens with an effective feedback mechanism system. This is something which the people of this region would not have thought even in their dreams but the advent of BJP Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made this a reality in just a few years and today the people could easily know about the development works being done anywhere in J&K through Jan Bhagidari online platform thus establishing a transparent system. The digital revolution which the Modi Government has brought in has been helping people in many ways as accessibility is no more a problem and the entire system has become corruption free with all the scope of bribery and bungling getting eliminated. Of course an era of smart, efficient, responsive, transparent, citizen friendly and corruption free governance across Jammu and Kashmir has been ushered under the incumbent government and the age old methods of corruption and discrimination have all become things of the past. Being specific, 213 online services for the people have been made available and more are in the pipeline thus making J&K a model for good governance and an example for many states and UTs which earlier were far ahead from the erstwhile State of J&K. Many online services have been made available under a Unified Service Delivery Portal called e-UNNAT and were integrated with MeriPehchaan, RAS feedback mechanism, e-Payment gateway, SMS gateway, DigiLocker, Aadhar, eKYC and UMANG. In this way the Government of Jammu and Kashmir is firmly committed to reach out to the common public and make available to them the government to citizen services in an easily accessible, uncomplicated and transparent manner. This is really a win-win situation for all people in the Union Territory as things are becoming convenient with each passing day.
