OPPOSITION CAN’T UNDERMINE FINMIN

The way the opposition party Congress staged a walkout in the Lok Sabha yesterday expressing dissatisfaction over the response given by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, it could be well gauged that the intention of the party was not the meaningful discussion over the rising inflation rather it only wanted to disrupt the proceedings as a satisfactory reply by the Finance Minister accompanied and endorsed by adequate facts and figures didn’t convince and gratify the oldest party’s MPs in the Lok Sabha. This should not be the case as the Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has expressed disappointment a day earlier that he feels bad how sometimes Parliament of the country functions. The Finance Minister has assured the country that India does not face any risk of either recession or stagflation as its macroeconomic fundamentals are flawless and the nation continues to be a fast-growing economy in the world. She has also quoted the reports of the top global agencies and watchdogs but the Congress being adamant over the issue remained unmoved and therefore moved out of the Lok Sabha staging a walkout.
responding point-wise she has said that a Bloomberg survey which was done by economists says there is zero probability of India slipping into recession even though there are several major economies which are in substantial risk-prone position of getting into recession. She also maintained that the country’s debt-to-GDP ratio is better than many developed nations, including Japan, and the GST collection has touched the second-highest since its rollout in July. It was also averred that this was the sixth time that the monthly GST collection crossed the Rs 1.40-lakh-crore mark since the inception of Goods and Services Tax and the fifth month at a stretch since March 2022. Although the Congress posed to remain unsatisfied but the people of the country would not undermine the Finance Minister like the way the Congress did and therefore the purpose is solved as country got the idea about the ground situation because after all the Parliament runs for the people and not for satiating a particular party’s vested interests. There is a need that people should go by their own acumen in gauging the things as various entities in the country are creating unnecessary doubts and mayhem, which are required to be counterchecked before blindly following the same.
