Lucknow , July 18: The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on Monday directed to convert a revision petition challenging the order of a Sessions court related to demolition of disputed structure in Ayodhya into a criminal appeal.
The court gave this order on request of the lawyers of those, who have filed the revision petition.
The revision petition had challenged the order of the Sessions court, requesting to proclaim the top 32 leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including LK Advani and Uma Bharati, as accused.
The Single-Judge Bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh passed the order on a petition filed by Haji Mehboob Ahmad and Syed Akhlak Ahmad. The court has fixed August 1 as the next date of hearing.
