HAVE FAITH
Lately there has been an intriguing trend in vogue in the country through which people are being misled on different issues especially when it comes to the welfare schemes launched by the government. In this context, the latest instance is of Agnipath Scheme, which has become a point of contention between many young job aspirants and the government after the opposition parties decided to feed the country with a wrong notion as if the government is the enemy of the people or one can say the country. The protests which turned violent in many parts of the country over the issue were uncalled for and the testimony to the fact that people are being swayed away after spreading lies over the issue by the people having vested interests. It is good that the government has taken a tough stand not to go back on the aforesaid scheme with all three services coming out with a broad schedule. The government has made it clear that reform was long pending in the defence recruitment process. Otherwise also those claiming to be the aspirants for the defence recruitment are losing their right to be the member of the most distinguished and disciplined force of the country because protests and vandalism are not allowed in armed forces. It is not always good to doubt the intentions of the government after getting wrong feedback from certain quarters of the political arena, especially when it is the matter of a country’s defence. One can say that people, especially the youth should not get carried away by rumours and ploys of the ones who want to destabilize the government for obvious reasons. The government has made it clear that the ‘Agniveers’ would get the same allowance in areas like Siachen and other places which are applicable to the regular soldiers and there will be no discrimination against them in the service conditions. Above all, the government has assured that the Agniveers, those who will join armed forces under the aforesaid scheme, will get a compensation amounting to Rs 1 crore if somehow conditions prevailed that he or she has to give supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Further the three services of the military today came out with a broad schedule of enrollment under the new policy and asserted that it was aimed at bringing down the age profile of the armed forces. There is no reason for the aspiring lot to get swayed by the people having vested interests as the government is a welfare state and will never come up with any scheme which is against the interests of the people.
