Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called a meeting again today amid the ongoing protests against the Agneepath scheme. The three army chiefs were present in the meeting and discussed the latest situation.
The round of meetings is continuing to deal with the ongoing protests against the Agneepath scheme. The chiefs of the three services are holding firm to discuss the issue with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Meanwhile, the army has once again given detailed information about this plan by holding a joint press conference. Additional Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, Lt Gen Arun Puri said that this plan has been brought up after much deliberation. He said that the objective of this scheme should be to create synergy among the enthusiasm of the youth.
Amidst all this, the Indian Air Force has released the details to recruit under the Agneepath scheme. In this description, the IAF has stated that Agneepath is a new human resource management plan for the armed forces. The candidates who are included through this scheme will be called as Agniveer. They will be recruited for four years under the Air Force Act 1950. Efforts will be made to enroll candidates as Agniveer from all parts of the country.
