THAT’S NOT DONE

THAT’S NOT DONE

The way the J&K Bank administration has left its customers high and dry is something which is seldom seen in the banking sector as weeks of periodic outages have disrupted the services of this bank with ATMs and online transactions becoming unpredictable and branches refusing to entertain people due to the system going haywire day in day out. Though the bank is giving excuses that the error is due to major system up-gradation but the misery which the customers are facing is nightmarish with nowhere to go as they are feeling that by choosing the J&K Bank they have made a mistake of life as no other bank leaves their customers lurking like the way the JKBL is doing. In this context, the system at all J&K Bank branches crashed on Tuesday leaving its entire set of clientage without any resources of substitute. It is highly unfortunate that those sitting at helm in the JKBL have given nod for the process to upgrade the system by putting all their customers into deep trouble as ATMs and other services have become highly unreliable and shaky. The Bank has clarified that system outage which took place in all the branches was due to a technical snag but the big question is that why on earth the management gave nod to upgrade system in such an unprofessional way as people dealing with the bank are feeling dejected for services going haywire off and on since last many days. In today’s world with cut throat competition, taking such unprofessional decisions can be suicidal for the financial institutions like the J&K Bank because losing customers on this account is not at all advisable and bank should use its all resources to restore normal banking services as soon as possible and give a reason to the people to continue doing business with this financial institution having a good track record. Earlier, the J&K Bank had sent a SMS to its customers conveying that a major system upgrade scheduled this month may lead to temporary disruption of services. It is high time that the J&K Bank should ask the stakeholders to wrap up the things and restore the system fully to win the confidence of people once again.
