Amidst claims being made by the Jammu and Kashmir administration and the police department to ensure security, terrorists have now killed a bank manager in Aareh area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The bank manager of Elaka-e-Dehati Bank branch in Kulgam was shot dead by terrorists who entered the bank in Aareh area this morning. The bank manager, who was seriously injured by the terrorists, was admitted to the nearest district hospital Kulgam, but he died during treatment. The deceased has been identified as Vijay Kumar. He was a resident of Hanumangarh Rajasthan.
Police say that when Vijay Kumar, appointed as manager in Hanpora branch in Kulgam, was present in his bank, suddenly a suspected assailant started firing at him. The terrorist fled after shooting, a CCTV footage of which has also surfaced. At the same time, the army and police personnel who reached the spot soon after the attack have cordoned off the area and started searching for the attackers.
CCTV cameras installed in the area are also being scanned. You may be aware that on Tuesday, terrorists killed Rajni Bala, a Kashmiri Hindu female teacher working in Kulgam itself. The next day i.e. on Wednesday night, terrorists shot a rural youth in Shopian, South Kashmir and fled. The bullet hit his leg and his condition is said to be stable. A group of terrorists armed with automatic weapons entered Shopian’s village Rakh-e-Chidran at around 8 pm on Wednesday.
