PEOPLE SHOULD COOPERATE
As the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is facing power crisis of bad nature for the past about two weeks those who are protesting against the issue should first understand that there is genuine problem before the PDD department which is stopping it from ensuring round the clock power supply which earlier was not an issue in J&K especially for those areas where smart and digital meters were installed and people were paying bills regularly. The situation across the UT has worsened due to shortage of coal which is responsible for the generation of power across the country. This has forced northern grid to cut the quota of J&K upto 50 per cent of the regular supply which is the reason behind frequent black outs. This situation though is irksome as weather gods are also showing their wrath with rain god not in mood to give some respite to people from hot and sultry summer, but those who are creating mayhem over the issue by holding protests and criticizing the people running the affairs should show some restraint as the reason behind this crisis is beyond the control of helmsmen as coal shortage is due to Russia-Ukraine conflict. The deficit rainfall in the entire belt is also the reason behind the load shedding as demand of power has gone up but due to aforesaid reasons the generation is limited thus creating present problem. People instead of protesting and creating situation awkward for the people responsible for electricity supply should cooperate and use power judiciously and also ask the others to do the same for fighting with the crisis collectively which is the need of the time. Of course under present circumstances, the promise of 24×7 electricity supply with the Smart Metering has not been fulfilled but this is not due to any lethargy of the officials but the unprecedented situation arising due to changing scenario across the world as countries supplying coal to India are presently entangled in war. Those instigating public against the government over the issue of power are doing great disservice to the society and should desist from doing the same as under present circumstances people should shoulder to shoulder with government rather than creating bottlenecks.
