INDIAN ARMY CONSTRUCTS ‘INSANIYAT BRIDGE’ AT KISHTWAR

Indian Army in its continued efforts to reduce hardships of people of far flung areas, constructed a foot bridge “INSANIYAT BRIDGE” at Zalla village, Chhatroo in district Kishtwar. Recently a boy from Zalla village fell down from temporary wooden bridge, which led to demand of permanent bridge for Zalla village by locals. They approached Indian Army for help and after assessing the requirement, Rashtriya Rifles unit constructed a 45 feet long and 3 feet wide iron foot bridge for locals. The bridge is strong enough to sustain load of 5-6 individuals and can also be used for movement of cattle. This initiative of the Army has further strengthened the bond with the Awam. The foot bridge was inaugurated by Indian Army in presence of Civil Administration and the other dignitaries and locals of the area. Bridge was dedicated to the people of the area. This foot bridge reduced distance from the area to Chhatroo town by seven kilometers thus bringing smiles on the faces of people. Locals highly appreciated the efforts of Indian Army which has mitigated their hardships.
