TECHNOLOGY CAN HELP

TECHNOLOGY CAN HELP

The assertion by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh that technology can be used to resolve any problem is right to the hilt but interfacing the same with specific requirements can only be done after thorough experience and insightful knowledge. As the Union Minister has said that there is lack of awareness among people with regard to scope of technology, it is necessary that government should come up with object-oriented modules to make aware those who can change lives by using technology optimally and in right perspective. It was averred that many of the Ministries and Departments of the Central Government can avail of scientific applications and solutions for the specific problems in a very cost-effective manner but things are still at infancy stage in the country and still there is a long way to go to precisely rely on technology in one and all sectors. Reportedly, in a big country like India where there are immense problems of the people, the Union Minister has disclosed that over 200 proposals/requirements were received from 38 Line Ministries/Departments for Scientific Applications and Technological Support & Solutions which is not a big number and shows that there is something missing as far as relying completely on technology is concerned. Although there are several ways and means to use technology for making lives convenient but still things are not being streamlined like the use of drones is limited whereas it could be of much significance in many fields as its uses are plentiful. Same way, space technology has a wider scope to make lives of people easy and resourceful but still what has been achieved in this field by the country is not utilized fully. The local governments at the State levels should identify the areas where technological interventions can help in resolving diverse problems to enable ease of living for common man. There are umpteen number of ways by which technology could be roped in to improve, enhance and augment facilities and get better results.
