J&K: CBI probe will be conducted into the allegations of former Governor Satya Pal Malik, accused of giving bribe in two cases

There will now be a CBI inquiry into the allegations of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik being offered bribe in two cases. In this case, the Lieutenant Governor of the state Manoj Sinha has recommended to the CBI. The Jammu and Kashmir administration has recommended a CBI inquiry to investigate the matter impartially.
Satya Pal Malik, the former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and the current Governor of Meghalaya, had claimed that he was offered a bribe of Rs 300 crore when he was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The offer was to be made in lieu of clearing two files of ‘Ambani’ and ‘person affiliated with RSS’, but he rejected the deal. Along with this, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that at that time the PM had told him not to compromise on corruption.
It is pertinent to mention here that On October 17, 2021, in a program in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, Satyapal Malik had said, ‘After going to Kashmir, two files came to me. One was Ambani’s file and the other was of an RSS affiliate who was a minister in the previous Mehbooba Mufti-BJP coalition government. He was also very close to PM Modi. I was informed by the secretaries that there was a scam and then I canceled both the deals in turn. The secretaries told me that Rs 150-150 crore would be given for both the files. But, I told them that I have come with five kurta-pyjamas and will leave with only that.
